About Saptapadi Welfare Centre
Established in 2022 as a registered society and charitable trust, the Saptapadi Cultural and Sports Association is dedicated to promoting arts, culture, sports, and social welfare. To advance our social welfare mission, we have established the Saptapadi Welfare Centre at Pirangut—a dedicated senior citizen and medical care facility.
We have partnered with Adhar Vishwastha Sanstha, bringing over 25 years of specialized experience in elder and medical care under the guidance of trustees Dr. Nanda Shivgunde and Dr. Pratik Shivgunde.

A diverse team with one shared goal: community transformation
Dr. Nanda Shivagunde
BHMS, M.D. (A.M.), is a homoeopathic physician, social worker and healthcare project leader with more than three decades of experience in healthcare, community development and social service.
She began her medical practice in Walchandnagar and Akluj, where she established a successful homoeopathic practice. However, alongside medicine, she carried a strong vision of working for society. Her journey in social service began through the Inner Wheel Club, Akluj, through which she became involved in issues including women’s development, sanitation and campaigns against plastic carry bags.
Her work subsequently expanded into rural development and water conservation. She served as State Coordinator of Jal Biradari and worked under Ramon Magsaysay Award winner Shri Rajendra Singh on village-level water conservation initiatives.
She also pioneered edible mushroom cultivation initiatives in Maharashtra, developing training and entrepreneurship opportunities for farmers and unemployed youth.
In 2001, she founded Adhar Vishwastha Sanstha, driven by the belief that healthcare should be accompanied by dignity, compassion and social responsibility. She subsequently established Adhar Care Center, creating a dedicated space for the long-term care of elderly, bedridden, disabled and chronically ill individuals.
After her son, Dr. Pratik Shivagunde, took over the responsibility of Adhar Care Center and began its expansion, Dr. Nanda continued her social-service journey by establishing Amrutvel Care Center at Pirangut.
Her work has also included paramedical education, women's empowerment, healthcare camps, vaccination and awareness programs, rural development, skill training and initiatives supporting vulnerable communities.
Her journey reflects a lifelong commitment to combining medicine with meaningful social service and community development.
Dr. Pratik Shivagunde
BHMS and M.D. (Medicine), represents the next generation of a healthcare and social-service vision that began with his mother, Dr. Nanda Shivagunde.
His association with Adhar began long before his medical career. From the 7th standard onward, he closely observed his mother’s work at Adhar Care Center and actively helped her in its day-to-day activities. Growing up alongside patients and caregivers shaped his understanding of the challenges faced by elderly, bedridden and dependent individuals. This experience eventually influenced one of the most important decisions of his life—he chose medicine with the specific intention of serving at Adhar Care Center.
After completing his medical education, Dr. Pratik took over the responsibility of Adhar Care Center from his mother and began working toward its expansion and development in 2023. He currently serves as Project Incharge of Adhar Care Center and Secretary of Adhar Vishwastha Sanstha.
His professional experience also includes serving as Medical Director at Lokmangal Jeevak Hospital from 2021 to 2023, where he was involved in medical operations, clinical teams, inpatient care, treatment planning, emergency care and quality improvement.
At Adhar, his focus extends beyond clinical care to healthcare administration, staff coordination, development of medical protocols, improvement of clinical workflows and strengthening standards of elder and chronic care.
Dr. Pratik's journey is deeply connected to Adhar's founding philosophy: to provide compassionate care while preserving the dignity, safety and quality of life of those who depend upon it.
